Bullard ISD Superintendent Placed on Administrative Leave; Expected to Resign during Tuesday’s Special Called Meeting

Bullard ISD Superintendent Micah Dyer was placed on paid administrative leave Monday night, according to a statement from the district’s Board of Trustees.

While district officials have not given a public reason for the decision, it is clear that it is an active investigation into Superintendent Micah Dyer is underway, This is an active and pending personnel matter, and the decision does not stem from allegations of misconduct involving students. It is likely no further information will be released until the conclusion of the leave.

“The Board wants all BISD students, parents, and community members to know that this action does not extend from any allegations of any misconduct with students,” the statement said.

The board added that it remains committed to keeping Bullard ISD safe for students, parents, employees and visitors.

The district said student learning and normal school operations will continue.

“Student learning will continue as usual each school day,” the board said. “Everyone at Bullard ISD remains committed to providing the best educational opportunities for our students.”

The district’s statement did not identify who will handle the superintendent’s duties while Dyer is on administrative leave.

Dyer began the superintendent role at Bullard ISD in late March.

After this story went to press for the printed edition of The Tri-County Chronicle on Wednesday, an announcement was made regarding a potential resignation of Dyer.

The Bullard ISD Board will convene on Tuesday to discuss the acceptance of the resignation.
